At SEOScan we are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. If you do not agree with these practices, please do not use our services.
1What Data We Collect
Account information
Your email address and encrypted password when you register. For paid plans, we also store your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID (no raw card numbers — those stay with Stripe).
SEO audit data
URLs you analyze and the resulting audit data (meta tags, headings, scores, etc.). This is stored to power your audit history.
Usage information
Basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically to maintain service quality and security.
2How We Use Your Data
- To provide, maintain, and improve our SEO analysis service
- To process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe
- To send transactional emails (receipts, password resets)
- To authenticate your account and enforce plan limits
- To generate AI-powered SEO recommendations via Anthropic's API
- To respond to support requests
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3Third-Party Services
Supabase
Handles user authentication and data storage. Your account and audit history are stored on Supabase's infrastructure. supabase.com/privacy
Stripe
Handles all payment processing and subscription management. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant. We never store your full card details. stripe.com/privacy
Anthropic
Your audit data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate AI fix recommendations. Data is processed per Anthropic's API usage policy. anthropic.com/privacy
4Cookies
We use session cookies solely to maintain your authentication state. These are strictly necessary for the platform to function. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
You can disable cookies in your browser, but doing so will prevent you from staying logged in.
5Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Audit history retention depends on your plan:
- Free: No audit history stored
- Pro: 30-day audit history
- Business: 1-year audit history
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us.
6Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erasure: Request deletion of your account and data ("right to be forgotten")
- Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format
- Restriction: Ask us to limit how we process your data
- Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent: Opt out of any consent-based processing at any time

7Security
We apply industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption in transit, encrypted passwords (via Supabase Auth), and row-level security policies on all database tables. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security but we take it seriously.
8Children's Privacy
SEOScan is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of SEOScan after changes constitutes acceptance.
